The mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, greeted His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain at the Campidoglio, Rome’s City Hall (and one of Rome’s famous seven hills, and the smallest one too).
The brief ceremony, which took place in the majestic Julius Caesar hall, was the opportunity to award King Felipe the highest distinction given to important personalities, Rome’s “Lupa Capitolina” bronze statue (Rome’s She-Wolf).
Accompanied by his wife Queen Letizia, the Spanish royalties met Italian President Sergio Mattarella in the morning and also Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Their official visit to Italy ended with a trip to Naples.
