Anagni’s splendid Crypt of Saint Magnus, February 10th, 2023

Located just 66 km south of Rome lies the town of Agagni, also known as the “City of Popes”.

Its main cathedral is home to the “Sistine Chapel of Crypts”, a magnificent 540 square meter collection of art in honour of Saint Magnus (the Crypt and its paintings date back to the 7th and 13th centuries) who had lived in the 3rd century.

The town of 20,000 souls once gave to Rome three Popes, including Boniface VIII.
