Isabel Muñoz spoke about her forty-year illustrious photographic career at Rome’s Parco della Musica (aka Auditorium).
Muñoz was born in Barcelona and moved to Madrid to study photography when she was 20 years old. She has travelled around the world to capture iconic scenes of life in Cuba, Congo, Ethiopia, Cambodia and also Rome. Muñoz has also addressed the issues of child trafficking and slavery in Southeast Asia.
Her black and white photos are a study of people through pieces of the human body and pictures. Muñoz primarily uses black and white in her photos, except when exploring anthropological or social issues. Some of the many awards that she has received have included two “World Press Photo International” awards as well as the “National Photography Prize” in 2016.
