Seventy-seven
year-old Sebastião Salgado was on hand for a talk
at Rome’s MAXXI museum on environmental issues. He was accompanied by his wife
of 54 years, Lelia Wanick Salgado.
The
Brazilian and Magnum Photo world famous photographer discussed the ongoing protection
of his beloved Amazon forest (his new book is out on the subject) and worsening
environmental-global warming issues with Italian journalist Mario
Calabresi. The event was hosted by
Giovanni Melandri, a former Italian cultural minister and the current president
of the MAXXI museum.
