Beautiful Urbino and its Palazzo Ducale (and also magnificent Raphael)!

We spent a nice two days in January, 2020, walking around beautiful Urbino and also taking in its wonderful Palazzo Ducale.

The Palazzo had the magnificent exhibit on their native son, Raphael, who eventually died at only 37 years of age in Rome and whose work also adorns the Vatican Museum.  Our B&B was also nice and comfortable, the www.cipressiurbino.it, located just a few km from the center of Urbino.

Piero della Francesca’s “Flagellation Of Christ”.

Raphael's exquisite paintings.

And Raphael's old home.

The Gradara Castle located about 30 km from Urbino of Dante’s Paolo and Francesca fame.   Lucrezia Borgia also spent some time there.

And the nearby famous "Gothic Line" where more than one poor Canadian solider died helping Italians to rid themselves of both Mussolini and Hitler.
