All aboard the Orient Express exhibit at Rome’s Villa Medici (aka the French Academy), a stupendous venue which was also mentioned by Keith Richards in his autobiography, “Life”.
The exhibit runs until May 21st, 2023. It traces the origins of the Orient Express, which was made famous by Agatha Christie, Graham Greene and also 007 (it starred in "From Russia With Love" with Sean Connery and "The Spy Who Loved Me" with Roger Moore), from its inauguration in 1883 by the Wagon-Lits International Company when it left Paris on October 4th of that year. After 81 hours of train travel it arrived in Istanbul.
The exhibit contains over 200 artefacts including photos, maps and historic posters. The Orient Express ran from 1883 to 1977.
