“Raoul Dufy, The Painter Of Joy” art exhibit at Rome’s Palazzo Cipolla, October 13th, 2022.

Rome’s central Palazzo Cipolla is currently hosting until February23rd, 2023 the “Raoul Dufy, The Painter Of Joy” art exhibit.

Dufy was a French painter (June 3rd, 1877-March 23rd, 1953) from Le Havre.  In 1905 he was inspired by the work of Impressionist painters Monet and Pissarro and along with his friend Braque also turned to Cézanne.

The Rome exhibit, which is divided into 13 sections, hostsapproximately 160 works of art by Dufy, including paintings, designs, ceramics and also etchings.  His travels also included visits to Florence, Rome, Naples and Sicily but did not per se paint any works of art that covered these cities, even though he did draw inspiration from the beauty of Sicilian island.
