Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella hosted the official state dinner at the Quirinale Presidential Palace in honour of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the day of their 20th anniversary wedding.
After having met for a brief period (20 minutes) Pope Francis at the Vatican’s papal apartment, Santa Marta, the Royal couple were feted by 150 guests, including Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and many of her cabinet members, such as Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Cultural Heritage Minister Alessando Giuli, artist Andrea Bocelli, John Elkann (president of Stellantis/FIAT/Ferrari , the Juventus soccer club and also part-owner of “The Economist” magazine), the Governor of the Bank of Italy Fabio Panetta, Home Minister Matteo Piantedosi, British Ambassador to Italy Edward Llewellyn (the Royals were his guests at the Ambassador’s residence during their Rome stay) and Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
