The City of Rome and the U.S. Embassy commemorated the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, DC at the memorial located in front of the Circus Maximus and FAO hqs (the U.N.’s Food and Agricultural Organization).
On hand for the somber event was Rome’s mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, the American Ambassador to Rome, Jack Markell, as well as several Italian fire brigade (Vigili del Fuoco) members who brought their respects for the many fallen American colleagues twenty-three years ago.
