The Altaroma fashion week at Rome’s Cinecitta’ film studios, February 2nd, 2022.

The “Altaroma” fashion week is currently on at Rome’s Cinecitta’ film studios, studios that go back to the days of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.  Also known as the “Hollywood On The Tiber” the famous studios have been home to Italy’s most famous film director, Federico Fellini, Martin Scorsese, Sylvester Stallone and also the historic “Ben Hur” with Charlton Heston. 

The current fashion show, which runs until February 4th, is now at its 13th year and attracts both Italian and foreign fashion designers.

One of Italy’s most popular actors-turned-film-director Carlo Verdone was one of the honored guest speakers at Rome’s magnificent Palazzo Borromeo, the seat of the Italian Embassy to the Holy See.

 
The 71 year-old Roman born Verde was greeted by Italian Ambassador Pietro Sebastiani who also took the opportunity of conferring a special commendation upon Monsignor Dario Eduardo Vigano’, an author, university professor and an expert on the world of  cinema and religion. 

 
The event was also a way to fondly recall the way Verdone portrayed priests throughout his long acting career.
