Marco Tamburro’s wonderful “Caravaggio Forever” art exhibit at Rome’s Palazzo Bonaparte, January 15th, 2026

Rome’s central Palazzo Bonaparte (Napoleon’s mother once lived there) is currently hosting for free and until August 23rd, 2026 Marco Tamburro’s art exhibit “Caravaggio Forever”.

Tamburro was born in Perugia in 1974 and has been living and working in Rome for decades.  His current exhibit is intertwined with the magnificent art of unquestionably one of the world’s greatest painters, Michelangelo Merisi, aka Caravaggio.

Caravaggio himself led a rather tumultuous life and also in the Eternal City.  Aficionados of Caravaggio can see many of his paintings here and there (and for free) in Rome’s many churches.

Forty paintings by Tamburro are on display and are divided into six different sections.  And the rather melancholy piano piece?  It’s taken from the “Queen’s Gambit” and you can hear it in one of the exhibit’s halls (and Tamburro himself told me he chose on purpose that tune for his exhibit).
