Rome’s “Musei Capitolini” (the Capitoline Museums, the world’s oldest museum) is currently hosting the exquisite “Greece in Rome” exhibit.
The exhibit, the first of its kind in Rome, contains 150 original Greek artefacts which enhanced the splendor of Ancient Rome (the Romans had been great admirers of Greek antiquity).
Sculptures, ceramics, bronze statues and frescoes are on display. The exhibit is divided into five different sections, sections that trace the profound historic ties between Roma and the Greek world. Section three is of particular interest as it regards Greece having “conquered” the seat of what was once the most famous empire that the world had ever seen.
The exhibit can be seen until April 12th, 2026.
