Italian Cultural Heritage Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and Alfonsina Russo at the Coliseum, January 1st, 2024

Italian Cultural Heritage Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano held his end of 2023/beginning of 2024 press conference inside Rome’s fabled Coliseum.  

He was accompanied by the director of the Coliseum’s Archeological Area, Alfonsina Russo.

 

The purpose was to outline his cultural ministry’s (and government’s) many achievements in 2023 throughout Italy’s many museums and UNESCO World Heritage archeological sites, such as Pompeii.  Regarding the Coliseum itself, Minister Sangiuliano outlined the fact that the ancient amphitheater attracts on a daily basis 20,000 visitors.
