Kayak trip no. 11 on November 9th, 2020 and our very first one with “Titanic II”, this time on the sea, at the Lido of Tarquinia, located about 85 km from Gallese. Tarquinia is also home to the former reign of the mysterious Etruscans and the area abounds with very ancient and beautiful necropolises.
A beautiful day with 22 degrees and with hardly anyone on the beach nor in the water with the exception of a few people out fishing.
Lake no. 8, Albano, located just 22 km from Rome.
It’s an old volcano and it's about 150 meters deep. It’s at the base of Castel Gandolfo which since the 1600s has been the summer residence of the popes, or at least it was up until Francis arrived at the Vatican as he stopped going there, a pity for the local tourism. There’s also a small train that goes there directly from St. Peter’s.
A very pleasant two-hour paddle around this lake.
Lake no. 10, the Lago del Turano, an artificial lake located 80 km from Rome. A 2 1/2 hour paddle around the lake. The restaurant overlooking the lake was simply wonderful!
Kayaking on the Elba Island, September 10th-20th, 2021. We went out twice on the high seas!
The 4th time to Lake Bolsena, about 120 km from Rome.
