Pilgrims flock to St. Peter’s for their last adios to Pope Francis, April 23rd, 2025

Pilgrims began flocking to St. Peter’s to bid their final adiós to Pope Francis.   The Pontiff’s body was carried into St. Peter’s Basilica at 11 am on Wednesday, April 23^rd and will remain there until Friday, April 25^th.

His funeral will take place on St. Peter’s square the following day at 10 am in the presence of many world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania.  His body will be then buried in Rome’s Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, one of the Eternal City’s famous seven basilicas.
