The city of Rome is currently paying homage to the late, great Colombian artist Fernando Botero with the “Botero In Rome” public exhibit of 8 of his massive statues which are located in the center of the Eternal City.
Botero, who died last September at the age of 91, was famous throughout the world for his “extra-large” statues and paintings. Thanks to his daughter Lina, the 8 bronze statues that are on display until October, 2024 can be seen at Piazza del Popolo and in other nearby squares. They are: Seated Women, Gatto, Reclining Woman, Seated Woman, Venus Dormida, Horse (with bridles), Standing Man (Adam) and Standing Woman (Eve).
