Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa at Rome’s book fair, December 5th, 2021

One of the world’s most popular authors, Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa, was in Rome for the 20th small and medium-sized publishers’ “Piu’ Libri, Piu’ Liberi” (more books, more freedom) book fair at the Nuvola (cloud) convention center.   Up to 150 publishers were on hand at the fair.










 

The 85 year-old Peruvian author, journalist, college professor and former politician won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010.











Some of his most famous novels have been “The City and the Dogs”, The Green House” and the monumental “Conversation in the Cathedral”.













 

Vargas Llosa took the opportunity to discuss his literary work and to also give the “IILA Literature” prize to author Samanta Schweblin.
