Since it’s foundation in 753 B.C. by
Romulus Rome has seen its fair share of invasions. The latest one comes thanks to the proliferation
in the Eternal City of the electric scooters which are occupying practically
every square inch of Italy’s capital, including the Vatican and the Coliseum
areas.
Letters of complaint in the national
papers abound as many users also ride on the sidewalks and do not respect the
basic traffic laws such riding double or going up one-way streets. And accidents and the odd deaths have also
occurred throughout the country including riders, pedestrians and car drivers.
