Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte paid an official visit to Rome's Synagogue on January 18th, 2018.
The Jewish community is in Italy for the last 2,200 years. Conte was at the Synagogue in light of the January 27th commemoration of when the Soviet Red Army liberated the Birkenau concentration camp.
The Chief Rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni was also on hand for the event.
